CQB? and in my view he was too far from you to shoot. So I don't consider this as a close combat. And he died because someone shot his rocket.

He died because he shot a rocket against the wall, nobody shot him or was close enough to shoot him.
If it's not close enough than he simply evaded death on purpose.
