Rules & Policy Changes [20/9/20]
« on: September 20, 2020, 01:01:17 pm »
Important notices and rules/policy changes

1. Rule changes: Racism/discrimination rules
The rule break is now catagorized under two type, which are rule break related to communication and gameplay. Punishment for rule break related to gameplay (hack/stats padding..etc) will be either a ban or a warn. As for rule break related to communication(racism/discrimination), the punishment shall be a mute. The admins are no longer allowed to use ban for racism/discrimination rule break except under few circumstances that a mute wont help. Related changes:
- Report that were posted before this changes will still be processed based on previous rules
- The range of of mute is increased to maximum 1 year (12 months)
- If a player is muted longer than 1 hour. The mute system changes to global ignore in which he will be added to everyone's ignore list by default. Other players can unignore him/her to see his/her messages but they are not allowed to report if he/she insult them.
- If the player unintentionally evade the mute: the player shall be muted back
- If the player intentionally evade the mute: the admin can either warn/ban the player
[Admin notes] Cmd changes: s = sec, h = hour, d = day, w = week, m = month

2. Script changes: Death evasion
The latest update will help to minimize the advantage of death evasion, the player that are detected doing death evasion will still get +1 death to their stats and the opponent will still get their score. Related changes:
- The player that do evasion will get +1 death to their stats.
- The opponent will get +2 assist (which is equal to 1 kill).
- The script is still not perfect, it will not work properly under few circumstances
- We will still accept report for death evasion for now. So if you do death evasion..just remember you will still get the death count, your opponent will still get the kills plus you will also get a ban.

3. Rule changes: Stats padding rules
There is no major changes, the player will still be either warned/banned. But, now there will also be a reduction of stats. It goes this way
- If the player do stats padding less than 100 kills: His stats be will reduced by 100 kills
- If the player do stats padding less than 200 kills: His stats be will reduced by 200 kills
- If the player do stats padding less than 300 kills: His stats be will reduced by 300 kills
- Example: If player A caught doing 30 stats padding, his stats will be reduced by 100 kills
- Example2: If player B caught doing 101 stats padding: his stats will be reduced by 200 kills
- When you think of doing stats padding, dont forget to think whether it's worth it.
- Reports that were posted before this changes will still be processed based on previous rules
[Admin notes] Cmd added in discord: !reducekills

4. Policy changes: Possession/distribution of hack
We added this policy quite long ago in an attempt to work together with other servers and create a global ban that was believed to help stop players from using hack in all related servers. But it turned into a burden for us since it seems like we are forced to care of reports that are not even done or related to this server because of this policy while the players that are caught in other server are reported directly here and not in the related server/taken care there. So, we have decided to change this policy and we will no longer accept report of players that are caught in other server. It will only serves as reference from now on. Even though, the admins still have right to take action if the player is already in our watchlist, then get caught in other server and believed could also be a risk to this server. In other words, dont use hack in public server. Related changes:
- Reports that were posted before this changes will still be processed based on previous rules
- We will no longer accept reports except if the player is caught in this server.
- The report from other server can only be used as reference
- The admins are allowed to take action even if the player is caught in other server if the player is already in our watchlist and believed he/she can be a risk to this server.

5. Administration changes: More power to moderators
As i've said before, i wanted to reduce the gap between the admins and mods. I started by allowing mods to handle low severity rule break and now i believe mods are ready to solve medium severity rule break. It used to be a very big step since moderators were only allowed to use warn and when they are promoted to admin, they were suddenly expected to handle all kind of reports. So i think giving moderators time to get used to handling report is a better option. I believe the moderator team are mature and trusted enough to handle such reports. Related changes:
- The moderators are now allowed to handle low to medium severity rule break
- The moderators are now allowed to use ban players for maximum 15 days (the maximum duration of ban for medium severity rule break).
- The changes is new, so if you are not sure about a report then you may leave it to admins or discuss it with admins.

6. A notice: Inactivity of developers
I cant say im active even for now but i still check/update server and look into stuff that require my attention quite frequently. But in few days, i will be more inactive due to personal reasons so i might not be available as much as now. As far as i know, Aaron is also having a hard time to keep up with the server due to his workload in real life. I dont want discourage players from tagging/PM developers but since we wont have much time, we might miss or not be able to solve things that really need our attention if we kept getting tagged/notified for even simplest things. So please dont tag/PM developers unless you really need a developer help such as if there is a script/server/administration problem or any problem that cant be handled by admins or head admins. We will still try our best to show up when ever we are in need..
