Forum Updates - Old/New

Hey Folks!

So, it’s time for you guys to know the updates ever since I’m given the responsibility of the forum. These weren't announced earlier. Cuz I thought there's no need as these are visible to everyone. But @Aaron wanted to let users know about it. So here is the list of updates!

Note: Titles marked red are important and you must read.

SECURITY

REGISTRATION
-reCAPATCHA by Google was installed in the forum to avoid bot attacks.

-For security reasons, registrations are only accepted once approved by admins.

-Custom fields – In-game Nick* and Clan were added for user confirmation. Both are linked with server web stats (Thanks to @Human. ).
            In-game Nick is MUST BE FILLED field. Only users having valid in-game account record in web-stats are accepted. Invalid/False nick leads to the cancellation of registration.

-The country mod was already present there. It’s also MUST TO BE FILLED.

LOGIN
-Login Security was installed in the forum.
            On every fail attempt, the user receives an email informing about the failed attempt along with the IP Address from where the login attempt was made. After 3 fail attempts, the user account is locked for a short period. In case if one receives the email, the user should promptly inform the staff team via discord/forum/email.

-IP Address protection was implemented.
            In Profile -> Account Settings, you’ll find a field "IP Address Account protection" as shown below. You can add IPs separated by comma (,). So that any login attempt made from IP other than listed will be rejected and you’ll be informed.

MOBILE RESPONSIVENESS

-Mobile Responsive theme Redsy was installed and modified to have a look similar to the desktop view of the forum. So, the user has the same experience when browsing via mobile/tablet/iPad/etc.

-Mobile Detector was added. It detects users browsing from Mobile/tablet/iPad/etc.
             User’s browsing from Mobile/tablet/iPad/etc. are switched to Redsy theme upon detection by mod. It enables mobile responsiveness and gives user-friendly
             UI/UX to ease our members.

OTHER UPDATES

-The forum was upgraded from 2.0.15 to 2.0.17 – Latest version of SMF. It’ll give better performance and fix the internal error.

-New Similes were added.

-IRC Tab was removed, as it’s terminated.

-Discord Tab was added and it’s now embedded in the forum.

-Quick Reply Box was added. Can be found below every unlocked topic.

-Drafts Messages were added. Users are now allowed to save messages as drafts.

-Enabled News Fader. The news at the top in the main forum.

-Stars/Ranks to profile were added. User stars/ranks are now visible in profile.

-Additional Group Member Ranks were added. Multiple stars/ranks can be seen in the topic.

-Post wrapper was added. These are the borders in which the poster’s detail is wrapped.

-@Mention Members was added. Users are now capable of mentioning any registered forum user.

-Audio and Video Embedder was added. It allows to view/listen YT videos or other audios direct in the forum.

-Enabled users to view who is viewing the current topic.

-Snow mod was added by @Aaron. Usually active in Christmas days.

-Other minor updates are also randomly pushed and maintained by Aaron
