Looks like a strafing accident if you ask me. His body is turned towards you but be that as it may, this isn't a first person shooter so I wouldn't say the ledge wasn't seen, its just that him trying to run on it brought that bounce that resulted in his fall.

I'm issuing a warning to be careful next time in how you try to avoid being shot.
