The reason you are getting a blank screen is because the picture is going through your integrated graphics on your CPU.You need to change this either in the BIOS or by letting your PC/monitor auto detect the GPU which takes time.
Is the DVI/HDMI cable properly plugged in to your GPU? Check for that.
