Hello Folks. In this topic I'll be showing you how to install VC:MP.
First of all, make sure you have GTA:VC installed on your computer. If you have it installed, then let move on. If not, then you have to install GTA:VC as I mentioned earlier.
Yet another thing we need before installing VC:MP is Microsoft Visual c++ 2013 to be installed on your PC. If you don't have it installed yet, then get it from
this link.
Downloading VC:MPThe first step is to download VC:MP.
You can download the client from
this page.
By scrolling down we'll see the 2 VC:MPs:
The first is the version 0.4 and the second is the 0.3z
Since VC:MP 0.3z is outdated, we'll have to download 0.4, the first option.
Going next, We'll have a download now! button in the bottom of the description.
After we'll click on it, it will pop up a window saying: Click to download VCMP04_Installer.4.zip if it doesn't start automatically or try another mirror. Incase the download won't start you should click the link saying: click to download VCMP0.4....
Installing VC:MPNext, after the client is downloaded, we'll have to extract the content of the zip anywhere.
Extract VCMP04_Installer from the archive anywhere as I mentioned it before.
Next, we will have to run it.
The setup should look like this:
Click on the next button.
Next is the license agreement:
Click on "I agree" button.
The following step is the location wherever you want to install VC:MP:
If you don't like the location where VC:MP is being installed, you can change it by clicking the "Browse...." button.
By default, VC:MP is being installed in "User's folder\appdata\Local\Vice City Multiplayer" and "appdata\roaming\VCMP\".
After the installation is done it will appear the last dialogue on the setup window:
The Run VC:MP after setup dialogue means that after clicking on "Finish" button will start VC:MP by itself, if you don't want to run VCMP after clicking finish, unmark the cassette.
Setting up VC:MPNow, next step is setting up VC:MP at your own like.
The first important configuration is the location of the GTA:VC game folder.
To do it so, click on the "Tools" tab above the list
Next, click on the "Settings" button.
And from there, you can setup your VC:MP directory and your VC:MP nickname you want to use.
The "Username" text is for your nick you wish to use In-Game.
"GTA:VC Directory"is the location of your GTA:VC installed. Incase you have installed GTA:VC from CD, use the "Autolocate CD Version" button. If you have it installed/bought from Steam, use the "Autolocate Steam Version" button instead.
"Updater Password" option is the password required for getting updates for the client. Since no password is needed for getting updates automatically from the updater website, leave this blank.
"Updater URL" option is for getting updates for the client from the official site, keep the default URL up.
"Masterlist URL" is the collector of any online server for VC:MP. By default, the hosted VC:MP URL is from the official ones, so keep it up too.
After all this, click on "OK" button to save changes or "Cancel" to discard changes.
Incase you're getting errors on starting up the game with VC:MP then use Windows XP SP3 for compatibility.
That's all, folks! Hope this tutorial helped up. You can reply dow for anything you need or you need help.
